Initial Disclosure

The Financial Conduct Authority is the independent regulator of financial services. The Financial Conduct Authority require us to provide you with a document called an ‘Initial Disclosure Document’. This document provides information about us, the products we offer, the services we will provide, what we charge for our services, who regulates us and what to do if you have a complaint

We will provide you with either comparable details of companies most appropriate to your lending or purchase requirements or general information relating to finance products. In assessing your requirements, we may seek such information about your personal circumstances and objectives as might be relevant in order to enable us to identify your needs. It is important that you provide us with accurate and relevant information.

As a Financial Conduct Authority regulated credit broker, we can introduce you to a range of lenders who may be able to help you finance your vehicle and provide other products/services.

We do not charge fees for our broker-related services. We are a commission and fee based organisation which means that we will receive a payment(s) or other benefits from finance providers should you decide to enter into an agreement with us. These commissions may be variable or pre-set dependent on the product and the volume that we place with the chosen supplier. The commission we earn does not influence our decision on who we introduce you to. The amount of commission received will be reflected in the amount you pay.

We may, however, charge a cancellation fee for services already provided.

For regulated agreements, if the customer cancels after we have started work on the order, we may charge a cancellation fee of £250.00 including VAT. This fee covers the reasonable administration and service work already carried out, including processing the order, liaising with the funder and dealer, preparing finance documentation, arranging vehicle supply, and any non-recoverable third party costs.

We will confirm the fee before it is charged and will not charge a cancellation fee where the cancellation is due to an error by us or where the customer has a statutory right to cancel without charge.

For unregulated agreements, we may charge a cancellation fee if the customer cancels after we have started work on their order. This fee may be up to the value of three initial rental payments, plus VAT.

The fee is intended to cover the work and services already provided, which may include consultation time, vehicle sourcing, funder and dealer liaison, finance administration, order processing, use or setup of fleet management systems where applicable, and any non-recoverable third party costs.

Any fee charged will be assessed based on the work completed and costs incurred at the point of cancellation.

(The cancellation fee will be payable upon receipt of our invoice within our payment terms).

Commission disclosure

The Financial Conduct Authority expects any intermediary to disclose to the customer that a commission will be payable by the owner or creditor to the intermediary, and if the customer asks, the amount of that commission. The Financial Conduct Authority has made it clear that “commission” means any financial consideration.

If you would like Gofor Finance Ltd to disclose any potential commission, please make your request by email to info@gofor.co.uk or by telephone: 0345 299 0450 or in writing to our office address at Lochside House, 3 Lochside Way, Edinburgh, EH12 9DT. For all regulated (or consumer credit) agreements, commission will be disclosed prior to signing any credit agreement.

Complaints

We aim to provide an excellent level of service to our customers but are aware from time to time things can go wrong. If you have a complaint you can either telephone us on 0345 299 0450 or email us at info@gofor.co.uk or put your complaint in writing to our office address at Lochside House, 3 Lochside Way, Edinburgh, EH12 9DT. A copy of our complaints policy is available on request.

In the unlikely event that a complaint remains unresolved after 8 weeks from the date it was made, you may be able to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), dependent upon the nature of your complaint. The FOS provides a mechanism for resolving disputes which is a simple, informal and accessible alternative to the courts. Their address is: The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), Exchange Tower, London, E14 9SR. Email: complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk. Tel: 0800 023 4567 (free), or 0300 123 9123 (costs no more than calls to 01 and 02 numbers).
