Gofor and CVM Group are delighted to be working with Metro Rod & Metro Plumb on the rollout of its new Electric Vehicle (EV) Salary Sacrifice Scheme, supporting employees at the company’s Macclesfield Head Office with access to a brand-new or used electric vehicle through a simple, tax-efficient and cost-effective employee benefit.
With advanced digital tools and a dedicated Metro Rod support team, we are looking forward to helping colleagues make a smooth transition into an electric vehicle of their choice. As well as providing a valuable financial benefit for employees, the scheme also supports Metro Rod’s wider sustainability ambitions by helping reduce overall environmental impact through the elimination of tailpipe emissions from daily commutes.
Supporting businesses with smarter employee benefits
Here at Gofor, we work with businesses across the UK to deliver tailored EV Salary Sacrifice schemes that make electric driving more accessible for employees while helping organisations strengthen their sustainability strategies and employee benefits offering.
The Metro Rod scheme has been designed to provide a straightforward and fully inclusive solution, with insurance, servicing, maintenance and breakdown cover all included within one monthly salary deduction.
By removing much of the complexity traditionally associated with vehicle ownership, the scheme allows employees to enjoy the benefits of driving electric with added convenience and financial savings through reductions in Income Tax and National Insurance contributions.
Launch event at Metro Rod Head Office
Following the launch event at Metro Rod’s Macclesfield Head Office, Robert Lea, Sales & Marketing Director at Gofor, said:
“It was great to see the enthusiasm Metro Rod employees had for the launch of this new benefit. There was great engagement from colleagues on the day, with multiple individual driver consultations to explain the personal benefits of the scheme and the potential suitability of individual vehicles. We look forward to continuing these discussions and to begin delivering the new vehicles to employees as their orders are placed.”
To support the rollout of the scheme, we hosted, alongside CVM, an onsite presentation and employee drop-in session, giving colleagues the opportunity to learn more about how salary sacrifice works, understand the financial benefits available and explore the range of electric vehicles on offer.
The session covered:
- How EV Salary Sacrifice works
- Potential tax and National Insurance savings
- What is included within the vehicle package
- How employees can choose and order a vehicle
- Live Q&A support from the Gofor and CVM teams
Employees also had the opportunity to experience electric driving first-hand through onsite test drives and dedicated Ride and Drive activities, helping demonstrate the practicality, comfort and performance of modern EVs.
Driving sustainability forward
The launch of the scheme represents another important step in Metro Rod’s sustainability journey and forms part of the business’s wider ambitions to reduce environmental impact and transition towards a more electric future.
We are proud to support Metro Rod with the delivery of a flexible and accessible scheme that benefits both employees and the business, while helping accelerate the transition towards cleaner, lower-emission transport across the UK.
