Leading global paints and coatings manufacturer Jotun has taken the next step on its journey towards a more sustainable fleet with the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) salary sacrifice scheme for UK employees, in partnership with Gofor.
The scheme was officially introduced at Jotun’s UK headquarters in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, where the Gofor team hosted a dedicated launch event to help employees explore the benefits of making the switch to electric.
Throughout the day, employees had the opportunity to experience a range of electric vehicles first-hand, speak with EV specialists and receive practical guidance on how salary sacrifice could make driving an electric vehicle more affordable.
Supporting Jotun’s journey towards lower emissions
The introduction of EV salary sacrifice is the latest step in Jotun’s ongoing fleet decarbonisation strategy, helping make electric vehicles accessible to a wider group of employees, beyond traditional company car drivers.
It builds on the success of Jotun’s wider fleet management partnership with Gofor, which began in 2025 with a focus on improving driver support, service levels and the transition to lower-emission vehicles.
Since partnering with Gofor, Jotun has reduced its average fleet emissions to just 13g CO2e per vehicle, supported by strong uptake of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles across its company car fleet.
Megan Wilkins, HR and Payroll Co-ordinator for Jotun said:
‘Introducing salary sacrifice is an important next step in reducing our fleet emissions and making electric vehicles accessible to more employees, not just company car drivers. Working with Gofor has helped us significantly reduce our average fleet emissions to just 13g CO2e per vehicle and I’m pleased to say that most of our recent renewals have been electric.
Gofor has delivered a genuinely personal service, helping our employees to understand their options and make informed decisions to select a car that works for their needs and aligns with Jotun’s sustainability goals.’
Delivering a complete fleet solution
Jotun appointed Gofor as its fleet partner to deliver a more proactive and personal approach to fleet management. Alongside the new EV salary sacrifice scheme, the partnership provides Jotun with access to a complete range of fleet support services, including Gofor’s driver app, fleet management portal, licence checking and flexible short and mid-term vehicle rental solutions.
By combining expert guidance, practical support and technology-led fleet management tools, Gofor continues to help businesses simplify fleet operations while supporting their long-term sustainability goals.
Paul Reeves, Account Manager at Gofor commented:
‘Salary sacrifice is a really effective way for a business to support fleet decarbonisation while providing a valuable employee benefit. It’s a tax-efficient way for non company car drivers to get into an electric car - ideal as the cost of living continues to rise.
We’re delighted to deepen our fleet management relationship with Jotun. We take real pride in providing our SME customers with a proactive, personal service and look forward to continuing to guide Jotun through their decarbonisation journey.’
Helping more employees make the switch to electric
EV salary sacrifice continues to grow in popularity as businesses look for ways to support employees, reduce emissions and encourage the transition to electric vehicles.
The scheme enables employees who are not eligible for a company car to lease an electric vehicle through deductions from their gross salary, creating potential savings through reduced income tax and National Insurance contributions.
With the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) reporting a 125% year-on-year increase in salary sacrifice volumes, more businesses are recognising the value of offering employees an affordable and accessible route into electric driving.
Through tailored fleet solutions and expert EV guidance, Gofor is helping businesses like Jotun build cleaner, smarter and more sustainable fleets for the future.
